The Coos Bay Downtown Association presents the 37th Annual Blackberry Arts Festival on Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th. Activities will be centered on Central Avenue and will feature an impressive array of talented artisans, music, and great food, including lots of blackberry items. Hours are 9am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
K-DOCK Radio will again host the Blackberry Jam on 3rd and Central. Blackberry Jam features a full array of talented musicians like Timberwolf, CRBQ, Toyz, Coos County and Reedsports Got Talent Revue and Bobby Lindstrom & Elkhorn Express.
Seven Devils Brewery will be hosting a beer garden at their location featuring their fine selection of beers and several blackberry inspired beverages. The third annual It’s All Berry Good Blackberry Recipe Contest will be held at the Coos Bay Elks Lodge No. 1160 in Downtown Coos Bay. Judging will begin at noon and the winners names will be posted no later than 2 PM. The prizes will be awarded to the winners at 2:30 at the Elks Lodge.
This year the Blackberry Arts Festival has another full venue of talented artisans which will be featuring Metal work, jewelry, quilts, candles, hand painted clothing, wine, carved wood and much more. Coos Bay Toyota and iHeartRadio are partnering to bring an exciting onsite art project to the Blackberry Arts Festival. Bring your creativity to the festival and leave your mark.
Several demonstrations will be happening both Saturday and Sunday. The Saint’s and Aint’s Square Dance club, South Coast Folk Society and the Sapphire Sirens will perform along with a Pole-Vaulting Demonstration from North Bend High School.
Don’t forget to look for the sign of the blackberry throughout the festival and downtown. This year several local restaurants who will be joining in on the blackberry celebration. You will know it when you see it!
